NetBeans 6.5 IDE (final) has been released!
NetBeans 6.5 is out now. Not in beta or release candidate but as a full-fledged release.
I generally like the NetBeans Swing GUI editor. It is WYSIWYG.
There was a Visual Editor (VE) for Eclipse that came out about half a decade ago. The VE could edit Swing GUIs. Problem is, the VE was never released as a final, finished extension and it has not been updated in years.
In general, I prefer the Eclipse IDE over the NetBeans IDE. However, I am pretty flexible when it comes to programmingn tools. I use the best one for the job I have at hand at the moment.
NetBeans has some good things going for it and it continues to improve.
